DESASTER & CRISIS

We are currently habituating an uncertain world. With natural and human made disasters and crisis rising on a steady graph, changing climate conditions, forest encroachments and a destabilising environment, Saakshar is contributing its share of offering help where it is needed. We take action to save lives, preserve property and provide humanitarian care.

Here’s some of the work done by Saakshar:

  • Providing blankets during the winter season.
  • Preparing for the monsoon – distribution of plastic roof covers, umbrellas and rainwear to the people.
  • 2021 Flood Relief Work – Saakshar has supplied food, hygiene products, vessels, toiletries to (a number will help) plus people/families. Our team also does visits for cleaning and sanitization of areas where help is needed.
  • Helping Hand Projects – We identify communities where mobility is a challenge for senior citizens, sick and disabled people and donate wheelchairs/stretchers for emergencies.
  • Feed Your Souls – We have been serving cooked meals to the hungry on a regular basis.
  • Spreading awareness of an eco-friendly way to celebrate festivals, especially Ganesh Chaturthi and, making plant seeds modaks.
