About us
Saakshar is a non-profit organisation that has been serving the underprivileged sections of our society for over a decade. We believe than an empowered society is the way to bridging the current gaps in our economic and social geography. Our overall goal is to alleviate poverty by providing a sustained access to education, health and awareness.
We do this through a well planned approach and detailed attention to our work which is carried through our focused projects on neglected issues of the needy which centre on education, environment sustainability, health and disaster/crisis relief.
Our Strategy
- To support the needy and the environment, we believe that eliminating our waste goes a long way. To this end we have started the 3 R’s Initiative: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
- Putting our ears to the ground and listening to the grass roots has proven to be working in our favour. Understanding the needs of the neglected masses has influenced our success in the reforms we have been undertaking.
- Ground work is the key to nudge and empower our communities to take up initiatives and bring about a transformation in certain areas of their life.
